Leonessa D'Italia

"The ten days of Brescia" (Le dieci giornate di Brescia), or "The Ten Days of Brescia," left deep marks in the city's history. While, on one hand, Austria won the battle, Brescia emerged victorious for its incredible resistance and determination, characteristics recognized to this day.

The title "Leonessa d'Italia," homage from the poet and writer Giosuè Carducci in his poem "Alla vittoria," crowned and honored the courage of the people of Brescia.
